Basic Understanding of Messaging in India
In India, as per new TRAI guidelines, SMS are classified as Transactional & Promotional SMS.
1. Transactional SMS :
Transactional SMS are the service SMS that are sent to subscriber base of an organization from whom consent to receive SMS is obtained by the organization or SMS content is transactional in nature like bank transaction or electricity bills.
2. Promotional SMS :
Promotional SMS are SMS meant for marketing or promoting any brand/product which can be send to general public provided the receivers are not registered with nccp of TRAI. (http://nccptrai.gov.in)

Since lot of organizations require transactional as well as promotional SMS, our web interface caters to both. User just needs to select the kind of SMS he is sending as is visible in below screenshot.

To ensure that system is not misused, we have created multiple ways of ensuring consent from receivers in case of transactional messaging.
You can use any of the following methods:
1. Miss call consent: We can provide you 1 landline no. on which your subscribers have to give a miss call There is annual charge of Rs. 1500 for this service
2. Consent on SMS: Your subscribers can send a SMS on a long code (+91-9230002323), SMS Content will be - Start "Your Sender ID". This service is free.
On any of the above activity, they will be automatically registered as your optin subscribers. After getting registered, you can send them SMS
Also, if as an organization, you can prove with the help of any documents that the users are your subscribers, we can allow you to send SMS.
Another smart way of sending transactional SMS is template:
You can get certain templates pre approved with few variables
Example: Dear customer we have received payment of Rs%%Against your flat no%%Cheque payment is subject to clearance.Thank you JM Housing.
(In above example %% is variable which can be replaced with any figure).
In above kind of SMS, optin is not required
